The national park of Cajas is definitely one of the hidden treasures of Ecuador. Not even an hour away from Cuenca, this massive reserve has an incredible biodiversity.
At a height of 4,000 metres in the Toreadora area you can be amazed by the paramo, Andean dry highlands. Even closer to Cuenca is the Lluviacu area, a bit lower and a beautiful lush green lake between the mountains. Have a look for yourself through these photos.
